Why did rome fall?
Rome fell because of public health, political corruption, unemployment, inflation, urban decay, inferior technology, military spending, and the roads. One way public health was involved in the Fall of Rome is that disease was spread through homeless people on the streets and the bloodshed at the Colosseum. One way political corruption was involved was that it was hard to choose a new emperor after the current one died. Unemployment played a big role in the decline of Rome because lots of farmers paid their slaves, but the farmers didn't have enough money themselves. This resulted in the farmers losing their farms. One way inflation helped in the decline of the Roman Empire is that when Rome stopped conquering new lands the flow of gold stopped, too. This made gold less valuable and resulted in people using food to buy things instead of gold coins. Urban decay played an important role in the decline of Rome, too Apartments were expensive and if you couldn't pay the rent you were kicked out and forced to live on the streets. One way inferior technology was involved in the Fall of Rome is that the Romans couldn't make new inventions fast enough to support the growing population. One way military spending was involved is that the original Roman army had no interest in defending their empire. This resulted in the Roman army consisting of city mobs and foreign slaves which resulted in the army being unreliable and very expensive. The roads played a big role in the Fall of the Roman Empire. The roads not only helped the Roman army travel easily, it helped barbarians come into the Roman Empire. These are the reasons why the Roman Empire fell.
